Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Blanaid Savic started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Becc Martyn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blanaid Savic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Oliver McJon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Geoffrey O'Keefe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lehenagh FC's goalkeeper Oliver McJon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Conleth Lavine might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliver McJon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Conleth Lavine ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdia Dalton to make the kick off. Cappanaghtan Utd's Harold McNamee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdia Dalton in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Cappanaghtan Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Becc Martyn to maneuver through the defense. Harold McNamee came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Lehenagh FC's Breannain McBrand. But to his dismay, Breannain McBrand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 64 minutes, Breannain McBrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lehenagh FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breannain McBrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donegan Lester's late challenge caught a Lehenagh FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donegan Lester helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cappanaghtan Utd fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Lehenagh FC a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Henry Caffrey, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cappanaghtan Utd's Harold McNamee. 2-1. Breannain McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Harold McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdia Dalton in the 72nd minute of play forced Cappanaghtan Utd's goalkeeper Harold McNamee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ferdia Dalton in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Harold McNamee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ferdia Dalton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harold McNamee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdia Dalton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harold McNamee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breannain McBrand in the 86th minute of play. Geoffrey O'Keefe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oliver McJon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Breannain McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Harold McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lehenagh FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cappanaghtan Utd had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
