Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gortnakilly's Bola Jameson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bola Jameson hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 3rd minute, Lewis McPaul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. From close distance Torey Murphy pressed in the 1-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 8 minutes into the game. In the 11th minute Bola Jameson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Batt Colwell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danesfort FC's Batt Colwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bola Jameson in the 15th minute of play. Torey Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Banban Dimson fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Danesfort FC's protests and gave Banban Dimson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Danesfort FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Banban Dimson to maneuver through the defense. Torey Murphy's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dennis Callaghan firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Patty Gough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torey Murphy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dennis Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Batt Colwell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoffrey Doyle went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Batt Colwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoffrey Doyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Callaghan made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Torey Murphy sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute, Torey Murphy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Danesfort FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 60 minutes of play, Danesfort FC's Torey Murphy made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dennis Callaghan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dennis Callaghan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Torey Murphy's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Danesfort FC's goalkeeper Batt Colwell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geoffrey Doyle. In the 68th minute, Torey Murphy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dennis Callaghan was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Batt Colwell was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Geoffrey Doyle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Geoffrey Doyle really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. Bola Jameson hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Torey Murphy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Dennis Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Danesfort FC's zone, Geoffrey Doyle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Batt Colwell came out of the goal and Geoffrey Doyle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gortnakilly's goalkeeper Dennis Callaghan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Torey Murphy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Callaghan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torey Murphy in the 85th minute of play forced Gortnakilly's goalkeeper Dennis Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patty Gough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Dennis Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 94 minutes on the clock, Tipper McDonald commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Danesfort FC a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Torey Murphy, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gortnakilly's Dennis Callaghan. 5-2. Danesfort FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
