Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gill Cronin started the match with the kick off. Gill Cronin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Batt Colwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Torey Murphy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Hunt having to interfere. Patty Gough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Batt Colwell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gill Cronin in the 14th minute of the match. Abban McGlenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Batt Colwell having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abban McGlenn got free with Batt Colwell in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gill Cronins short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Batt Colwell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Batt Colwell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gill Cronin, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, Gill Cronin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Batt Colwell. The goal made the score 1-0. Batt Colwell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antaine McPhil in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Drumahayre's goal looked a bit too open when Torey Murphy came free, but Teddy Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gill Cronin succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Danesfort FC's Batt Colwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gill Cronin in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torey Murphy to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gill Cronin in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Batt Colwell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Batt Colwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felim McCready, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abban McGlenn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Danesfort FC's Batt Colwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gill Cronin in the 68th minute of play. Drumahayre's Teddy Hunt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Drumahayre from getting a goal against them. Danesfort FC's Torey Murphy got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Danesfort FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abban McGlenn came free, but Batt Colwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Drumahayre's Abban McGlenn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Batt Colwell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 82 minutes into the match, Antaine McPhil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Batt Colwell. Danesfort FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antaine McPhil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After 86 played minutes Drumahayre got a freekick which was hit by Bantry Robinson. If Gill Cronin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Danesfort FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Drumahayre.
