Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Farrell Branson started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Farrell Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teddy Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes, Biviti Palmer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ryefield and the Drumahayre players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th match minute, Ryefield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biviti Palmer to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Farrell Branson in the 10th minute of play forced Drumahayre's goalkeeper Teddy Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Farrell Branson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ryefield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Farrell Branson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bevin McNamee hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Teddy Hunt came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Ryefield's Brion Quinnless. But to his dismay, Brion Quinnless quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Farrell Branson took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teddy Hunt. Teddy Hunt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Ryefield's Heron Benson got a free kick in the 31st minute. Boyne McWill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bantry Robinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Farrell Branson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Teddy Hunt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Teddy Hunt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Farrell Branson's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Farrell Branson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 46 minutes into the match, Drumahayre's goal looked a bit too open when Farrell Branson came free, but Teddy Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gill Cronin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Ryefield's Farrell Branson in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Drumahayre's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Farrell Branson in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teddy Hunt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute, Farrell Branson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teddy Hunt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. 68 minutes into the match, Ryefield's Farrell Branson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teddy Hunt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Farrell Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Teddy Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Farrell Branson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Hunt having to interfere. Boyne McWill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bantry Robinson in the 77th minute of play. Farrell Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Teddy Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teddy Hunt made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Brion Quinnless sent off a good shot on target. Ryefield's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
