Spectators: 6781 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Conaill McNamara started the match with the kick off. Cassidy Dillon charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cassidy Dillon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 3 minutes into the game, one of Cloghroe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Donan Walker hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 9 played minutes, Hollymount FC's Alex Caffrey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Banon Ghee came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hollymount FC reached it. Sameer Sheridan charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sameer Sheridan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cloghroe getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Sameer Sheridan hit a great ball. Cloghroe's Brenda McMichel suffered a fractured collar bone after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beothach Murphy during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Auley Grant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Pauric John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beothach Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cloghroe's zone, Heron Horgan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Banon Ghee came out of the goal and Heron Horgan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Donan Walker fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloghroe's protests and gave Donan Walker a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 29 minutes, Heron Horgan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hollymount FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heron Horgan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Auley Grant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pauric John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pauric John took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Auley Grant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the game, Pembroke Cronin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hollymount FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cloghroe the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hollymount FC's Pembroke Cronin got a free kick in the 38th minute. If Auley Grant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pauric John stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Auley Grant's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Peyton Byrne got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Peyton Byrne hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Triain McPaul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beothach Murphy made a kick off. When Donan Walker was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played. After 52 played minutes Cloghroe got a freekick which was hit by Donan Walker. Pauric John made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Barcvni Caffey sent off a good shot on target. When Triain McPaul was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 57 minutes had been played. Hollymount FC's Pauric John played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Auley Grant in the 60th minute of play. Donlan Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barcvni Caffey kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Sameer Sheridan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Pauric John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Auley Grant struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Pauric John didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloghroe. Beothach Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 82 in the game by Auley Grant from a close distance when the talented Pauric John managed to make a qualified save. Hollymount FC's players were relieved. Auley Grant blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pauric John having to make a save. When Riddock Duggan came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Cloghroe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Riddock Duggan couldn't finish the play. Pauric John made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barcvni Caffey in the 91st minute. Riddock Duggan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pauric John having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, Hollymount FC could leave the field as winners, despite Cloghroe having more of the ball for most of the match.
