Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Teddy Colwell made the kick off and thus started the match. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hermitage! The referee gave Kilmartin a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pearse Cronin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hermitage's Brefni McNamara. 0-1. Brefni McNamara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Riddock Murphy's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 14th minute, Teddy Colwell fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Roy McJohnny, passed just outside the right post. When Torin Tierney fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hermitage's protests and gave Torin Tierney a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kilmartin booed when Hermitage was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torin Tierney didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rourke Keegan came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Hermitage fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rourke Keegan couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Hermitage's zone, Robin Gallagher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brefni McNamara came out of the goal and Robin Gallagher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfred Benson charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfred Benson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Alfred Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rourke Keegan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roy McJohnny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teddy Colwell in the 36th minute of the match. In the 41stth minute of the game Riddock Murphy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hermitage's Brefni McNamara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robin Gallagher took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brefni McNamara. Brefni McNamara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Gearroid Molloy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Brefni McNamara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Riddock Murphy to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Hermitage was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Art McNamee to maneuver through the defense. Kilmartin's Gearroid Molloy suffered a sore thigh after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 55 minutes, Tipper Hutton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hermitage and the Kilmartin players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tipper Hutton kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Hermitage's Brefni McNamara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Hermitage from getting a goal against them. Roy McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Colwell, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Teddy Colwell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Hermitage's Derry Gallagher got a free kick in the 74th minute. Shannon Prunty charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shannon Prunty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hermitage booed when Kilmartin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shannon Prunty didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Rourke Keegan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roy McJohnny. Kilmartin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rourke Keegan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Teddy Colwell sped through Kilmartin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roy McJohnny. Robin Gallagher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Brefni McNamara made a huge save. Roy McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rourke Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Kilmartin's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
