Riddock Murphy did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Boland Bayes 6 minutes into the match. Kilmartin's Robin Gallagher got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Kilmartin's goal looked a bit too open when Séamus McPaul came free, but Roy McJohnny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Séamus McPaul in the 22nd minute of play forced Kilmartin's goalkeeper Roy McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Riddock Murphy in the 24th minute of play forced Killinkere's goalkeeper Boland Bayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kilmartin's Roy McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samueil McCollion in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Killinkere's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Gallagher came free, but Boland Bayes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Robin Gallagher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Séamus McPaul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy McJohnny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Riddock Murphy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Boland Bayes. That made the score 2-0 in the 46 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Séamus McPaul was the one to do the kick off. In the 63rd minute, Samueil McCollion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70th minute, Brendanus Callaghan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Riddock Murphy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Boland Bayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Killinkere getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Bivadi McWill hit a great ball. Robin Gallagher might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boland Bayes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robin Gallagher ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Riddock Murphy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boland Bayes was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. If Robin Gallagher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Kilmartin fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Kilmartin's Riddock Murphy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kilmartin's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
