Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adamnan Crowe started the match with the kick off. Rian McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute, Rian McMichel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 10 minutes, Bree Holt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caher and the Knockstown players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Bree Holt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip McWilliam in the 13th minute of play forced Caher's goalkeeper Reilly McSteven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Adamnan Crowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Breadan Glen Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bairne Todd in the 20th minute of play. Adamnan Crowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reilly McSteven made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darick Robinson in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute of the game Bowie Cronin made a throw-in which Rian McMichel played forward. In the 34th minute, Adamnan Crowe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 38 minutes of play, Knockstown's Ryland Murphy made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reilly McSteven was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 43 minutes, Adamnan Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caher's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adamnan Crowe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rian McMichel to make the kick off. Teigue Hutton's late challenge caught a Caher's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teigue Hutton helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd minute, Teigue Hutton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Caher getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Bree Holt hit a great ball. Caher's Reilly McSteven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rian McMichel in the 63rd minute of play. During the 64th minute of the match Bree Holt completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bree Holt a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 65th minute, Bree Holt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teigue Hutton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reilly McSteven. Caher's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Adamnan Crowe put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Breadan Glen Crowe. Bairne Todd hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Knockstown's Teigue Hutton got a free kick in the 77th minute. Caher's Adamnan Crowe got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Adamnan Crowe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Breadan Glen Crowe was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Knockstown's zone, Torin Ghee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breadan Glen Crowe came out of the goal and Torin Ghee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 94 minutes on the clock, Bairne Todd commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Caher's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
