The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kirikee Utd were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Killincoole's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aengus Dimson took the corner. Kirikee Utd's Aengus Dimson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bernard Cooney in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 25 minutes into the match, Kirikee Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis Martyn came free, but Kieran Benson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timmons Tierney couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roland McJames made a kick off. With a little luck, Killincoole's Bernard Cooney got control of the ball when Timmons Tierney tried to sneak it across the goal line. Blair Glen Crowe charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Timmons Tierney succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 71st playminute. After 75 played minutes Kirikee Utd got a freekick which was hit by Declan McLiam. Kieran Benson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blathma Delaney in the 78th minute of the match. Timmons Tierney's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bernard Cooney firmly grabbed it by the left post. Blair Glen Crowe was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 82nd minute, Blair Glen Crowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Kirikee Utd's Roland McJames got a free kick in the 87th minute. Roland McJames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bernard Cooney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timmons Tierney in the 96th minute. Quinton Gallagher kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
