Kells Utd's Brann Benson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adamnan Crowe in the 2nd minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Caher was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bree Holt to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reilly McSteven showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Caher's Reilly McSteven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Caher from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, Adamnan Crowe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caher fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bairne Todd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 played minutes, Kells Utd's Branagain Horgan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reilly McSteven came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kells Utd reached it. The supporters of Kells Utd booed when Caher was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bree Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Kells Utd getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Branagain Horgan hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Kells Utd:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Caher:s goal. After the first half Caher were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Desmond Tracy made the kick off in the second half. Reilly McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berkeley Taylor in the 55th minute of the match. Kells Utd's Brann Benson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adamnan Crowe in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute Desmond Tracy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reilly McSteven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Desmond Tracy got in the 60th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Reilly McSteven handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Reilly McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denny McCready in the 66th minute of the match. Bairne Todd charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bairne Todd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Caher's Bairne Todd got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Bree Holt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caher's Reilly McSteven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desmond Tracy in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Berkeley Taylor notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Caher's Reilly McSteven. Reilly McSteven was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 90th minute, Adamnan Crowe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Kells Utd manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Caher to win.
