An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip McWilliam in the 36th minute of play forced Oldbawn's goalkeeper Robert Cassin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes, Oldbawn's Isaac McSteven shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Breadan Glen Crowe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oldbawn reached it. Ryland Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brak Cronin made a kick off. Corey Barrett took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Breadan Glen Crowe. Breadan Glen Crowe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Rian McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Oldbawn supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Knockstown's performance. The match ended with a win for Knockstown.
