Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gearroid Gough kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd minute, Bricin Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brendon McNamara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Boyce McDecland having to make a save. If Brendon McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th match minute, Ardloy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gehan Taylor to maneuver through the defense. Brendon McNamara in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Boyce McDecland, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Brendon McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Boyce McDecland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breslin Scully in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boyce McDecland saved Ardloy from getting behind. Brendon McNamara hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Walsheslough FC's Bricin Prunty got a free kick in the 26th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Ardloy's Teris McTommy tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Breslin Scully received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Boyce McDecland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ardloy's Boyce McDecland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ardloy from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Piers Frankson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lawrence Rogers in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gearoid Scully saved Walsheslough FC from getting behind. After 42 played minutes Ardloy got a freekick which was hit by Ravan Crowe. After a defensive mix-up in Walsheslough FC's zone, Gehan Taylor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gearoid Scully came out of the goal and Gehan Taylor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Breslin Scully made a kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Breslin Scully who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ardloy's Boyce McDecland was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gearroid Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gearoid Scully having to interfere. A collision led to Ardloy getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Gehan Taylor hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Ravan Crowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boyce McDecland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breslin Scully, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Boyce McDecland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brendon McNamara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gehan Taylor fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ardloy's protests and gave Gehan Taylor a yellow card for diving instead. Gehan Taylor kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When Lawrence Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ardloy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lawrence Rogers couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute of the match Donlevy Horgan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gearoid Scully skillfully saved the ball. Ardloy's Lawrence Rogers got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ardloy's Teris McTommy got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Walsheslough FC's Brendon McNamara got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ardloy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
