Irishford's Buach Dunne got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boynton McFrank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Conan McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Buach Dunne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Irishford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Gearoid Scully showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Valiente, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Walsheslough FC's zone, Buach Dunne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gearoid Scully came out of the goal and Buach Dunne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Irishford's Victor Valiente quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Brennen Mulvihill, made in the 29th minute of the game. Buach Dunne struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Gearoid Scully didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irishford. 32 minutes into the match, Irishford's Buach Dunne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gearoid Scully narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brennen Mulvihill hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Breslin Scully during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Irishford were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Buach Dunne to strike the kick off in the second half. If Buach Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bairrionn McWill was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 82 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Bairrionn McWill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walsheslough FC's Gearoid Scully played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Valiente in the 87th minute of play. Victor Valiente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gearoid Scully having to interfere. In the 91st match minute, Irishford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torey Walker to maneuver through the defense.
