The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tevis McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Fachtna McDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 4 minutes, Pearse McPhilip mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Greethill and the Ballygarvan AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th match minute, Greethill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearse McPhilip to maneuver through the defense. Gilbeirt Jameson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Britt Harkin in the 14th minute of the match. Britt Harkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gilbeirt Jameson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Britt Harkin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballygarvan AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Britt Harkin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kyle Harkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Gilbeirt Jameson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ballygarvan AFC booed when Greethill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryland Rutherford didn't get a good kick on the ball. A throw-in in the 30th minute of the game was made by Boethis Dunne with Boethis Horgan as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Gilbeirt Jameson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Britt Harkin in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Britt Harkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbeirt Jameson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Greethill's Pearse McPhilip got his second yellow card of the match in the 49th minute. The referee ordered Pearse McPhilip off the ground. A collision led to Greethill getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Pearse McPhilip hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heremon Dempsey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Britt Harkin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gilbeirt Jameson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 59 minutes into the match, Burke McFrank notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Greethill's Gilbeirt Jameson. Gilbeirt Jameson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 63rd match minute, Greethill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bantry Mulvihill to maneuver through the defense. Boethis Dunne took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilbeirt Jameson. Greethill's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gilbeirt Jameson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Harkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Harkin in the 74th minute of play forced Greethill's goalkeeper Gilbeirt Jameson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Britt Harkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Gilbeirt Jameson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 84 played minutes, Ballygarvan AFC's Darren McWillie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gilbeirt Jameson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ballygarvan AFC reached it.
