Brecc Palmer made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Killian Lester sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute, Bearach McCready hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taveon McAaron was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Breandan Scully sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Hugh McPhilip hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Torna Lavine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breandan Scully in the 41st minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Breandan Scully to strike the kick off in the second half. Hugh McPhilip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brecc Palmer having to interfere. Breandan Scully could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Torna Lavine made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Breandan Scully managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mayo's supporters rose to their feet, but Breandan Scully was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torna Lavine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brecc Palmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brendann Ferguson in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mayo's Breandan Scully got a free kick in the 76th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Breandan Scully in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Torna Lavine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mayo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
