Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Glenulra FC's Berke Frankson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donlevy McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Doney McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doney McTommy came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Altans's Arnold Lester. But to his dismay, Arnold Lester quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Coran Caffey kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. If Cormac John had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, Altans's goal looked a bit too open when Berke Frankson came free, but Dolan McPaul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Cormac John cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Dolan McPaul was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Berke Frankson might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dolan McPaul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Berke Frankson ran back to his position shaking his head. After 23 played minutes Altans got a freekick which was hit by Royan Mulvihill. In the 25th minute Arnold Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doney McTommy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Donlevy McBrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cormac John got free with Dolan McPaul in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Heremon McWillie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Palmer missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 32 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Doney McTommy right hand side. Doney McTommy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnold Lester in the 35th minute of play. When Donlevy McBrand came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Altans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donlevy McBrand couldn't finish the play. Donlevy McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doney McTommy having to interfere. The supporters of Altans booed when Glenulra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bricin McJohnny didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donlevy McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doney McTommy having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Glenulra FC's Cormac John sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dolan McPaul narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Royan Mulvihill hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Leon McWilliam took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dolan McPaul. Altans's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnold Lester made a kick off. Royan Mulvihill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Doney McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Donlevy McBrand managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altans's supporters rose to their feet, but Donlevy McBrand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doney McTommy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Doney McTommy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnold Lester, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Arnold Lester scored 1-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doney McTommy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Doney McTommy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donlevy McBrand in the 69th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Cormac John managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glenulra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cormac John was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Glenulra FC's Berke Frankson got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cormac John struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Dolan McPaul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glenulra FC. After 81 minutes of play Altans's Royan Mulvihill was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Leon McWilliam, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Irving Tierney hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Berke Frankson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolan McPaul having to interfere. The Altans supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Altans would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
