Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dromahoe's Bellaghy McWilliam started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Trevor McCready showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Martyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After some careless play in the Dromahoe defense, Brendon Gough kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevor McCready. The Dromahoe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevor McCready should have stopped the shot. Don Martyn in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Trevor McCready, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Don Martyn did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Trevor McCready 8 minutes into the match. If Bren Murphy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Dromahoe's Bren Murphy got a free kick in the 14th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Don Martyn got free with Trevor McCready in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dromahoe's Trevor McCready played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Todd Tracy in the 27th minute of play. Don Martyn came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Trevor McCready could save by the left post. Todd Tracy received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Trevor McCready came out and tried to block the shot, but Todd Tracy slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, Dromahoe's Darrick Dillon got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Don Martyn was the one to do the kick off. If Bren Murphy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Don Martyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trevor McCready was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Don Martyn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trevor McCready. Dromahoe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Don Martyn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Don Martyn in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trevor McCready prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dewain McJon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bellaghy McWilliam in the 71st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Bellaghy McWilliam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dromahoe's supporters rose to their feet, but Bellaghy McWilliam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dewain McJon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Don Martyn in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trevor McCready prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trevor McCready didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brendon Gough went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. Don Martyn might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trevor McCready. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Don Martyn ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute, Dromahoe's Donavin Myler seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Donavin Myler the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Dromahoe protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Donavin Myler had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Trevor McCready had in the 87thth minute some difficulties stopping Barclay Dalton's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 87 minutes of play, Tara FC's Barclay Dalton made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trevor McCready was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 89th minute, Tate Coyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 played minutes Dromahoe got a freekick which was hit by Gearalt McJames. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Don Martyn in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trevor McCready saved Dromahoe from getting behind. Tara FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
