If Ennis Gallagher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cathal Ferguson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harold McMichel in the 13th minute. When Beckett Taylor fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aghacurreen Utd's protests and gave Beckett Taylor a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Aghacurreen Utd getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Beckett Taylor hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Ennis Gallagher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendan Caffey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Nutgrove AFC's goalkeeper Cathal Ferguson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harold McMichel. Brendan Caffey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 47 minutes into the game, Bowen McBjarton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aghacurreen Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nutgrove AFC the free kick.

The wind increased when Rowe Ryan made the kick off in the second half. If Rowe Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Aghacurreen Utd got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Caffey. Ennis Gallagher struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Brendan Caffey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nutgrove AFC. Ennis Gallagher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendan Caffey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 71st minute Harold McMichel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cathal Ferguson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brendan Caffey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ennis Gallagher in the 76th minute. Aghacurreen Utd's Brendan Caffey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Aghacurreen Utd from getting a goal against them. Ennis Gallagher in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brendan Caffey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Brennon John was extremely unlucky when he, in the 96th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nutgrove AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
