Killycross's Baptist Lester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Logan Duggan in the 32nd minute of play. In the 37th minute of the match, Bret McTommy got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bil McBrand was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Henry Mullan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Mullan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Mullan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bret McTommy struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Bil McBrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Braeden McFrank got free with Baptist Lester in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Killycross's Henry Mullan in 85 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Bil McBrand guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballyhoura's goalkeeper Bil McBrand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Bret McTommy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bil McBrand was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballyhoura players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Killycross.
