After 10 played minutes Killeek got a freekick which was hit by Donavan Walker. With a little luck, Killeek's Artuir Caffrey got control of the ball when Alan McWilliam tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blavock McBjarton in the 14th minute of play forced Killeek's goalkeeper Artuir Caffrey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Rylie Dillon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th play minute Briony Lavine came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Artuir Caffrey. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brickeen Coyle in the 38th minute of play forced Killeek's goalkeeper Artuir Caffrey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rylie Dillon was the one to do the kick off. Artuir Caffrey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Briony Lavine in the 52nd minute of the match. Artuir Caffrey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Briony Lavine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, Killeek's goal looked a bit too open when Blavock McBjarton came free, but Artuir Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pettigo's Dermod Silke couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Killeek. If Bealtaine McLaughlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 71 minutes, Briony Lavine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pettigo and the Killeek players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Killeek booed when Pettigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Briony Lavine didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pettigo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
