Cian Byrne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Coileán Delaney in the 4th minute. Cian Byrne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Coileán Delaney, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. A collision led to Pettigo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Dermod Silke hit a great ball. Coileán Delaney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Cian Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pettigo's Brickeen Coyle got a free kick in the 19th minute. The supporters of Pettigo booed when Sutton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Coileán Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan McWilliam in the 34th minute of play forced Sutton AFC's goalkeeper Biviti Dillon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pettigo booed when Sutton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Coileán Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pettigo's zone, Coileán Delaney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cian Byrne came out of the goal and Coileán Delaney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Coileán Delaney made a kick off. Cian Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braon McJames in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Healey McBrandon in the 56th minute of play forced Pettigo's goalkeeper Cian Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Biviti Dillon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blavock McBjarton in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Blavock McBjarton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pettigo's supporters rose to their feet, but Blavock McBjarton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Biviti Dillon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Briony Lavine charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Briony Lavine the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Pettigo's Briony Lavine got a free kick in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Healey McBrandon in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cian Byrne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 77 minutes into the match, Alan McWilliam notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sutton AFC's Biviti Dillon. Biviti Dillon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Healey McBrandon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Cian Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Biviti Dillon was a little too slow when Blavock McBjarton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-2. 93 minutes into the match, Pettigo's goal looked a bit too open when Coileán Delaney came free, but Cian Byrne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Sutton AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pettigo's performance. The match ended with a win for Pettigo.
