Colmcille McStephen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Beag Callaghan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Colmcille McStephen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beag Callaghan was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Killian John's late challenge caught a Toombeola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Killian John helped the player get up and apologised. Bec Savic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Beag Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colmcille McStephen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Beag Callaghan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 45 played minutes Garnish got a freekick which was hit by Killian John.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassidy Frankson to make the kick off. Beag Callaghan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Colmcille McStephen's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Blanche McPaul made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Arthur Caffrey sent off a good shot on target. Colmcille McStephen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Colmcille McStephen sped through Garnish's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beag Callaghan. After 64 minutes of play, Toombeola's Colmcille McStephen made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Beag Callaghan was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Colmcille McStephen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Braon McAlphie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toombeola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braon McAlphie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Colmcille McStephen came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Toombeola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Colmcille McStephen couldn't finish the play. Cianán McPhilip hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Blanche McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bree Holt, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When Bec Savic came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Toombeola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bec Savic couldn't finish the play. Braon McAlphie kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Colmcille McStephen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Garnish's Arthur Caffrey got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Colmcille McStephen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toombeola walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
