The audience was convinced that Tyrone O'Keefe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barley McOliver was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the match, Cappavicar's goal looked a bit too open when Tyrone O'Keefe came free, but Barley McOliver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tyrone O'Keefe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 17 minutes, Garrett Hunt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilkea FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garrett Hunt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 minutes of play Cappavicar's Derry McMichel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Kilkea FC booed when Cappavicar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derry McMichel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garrett Hunt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barley McOliver having to interfere. Herne Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrone O'Keefe in the 29th minute of play forced Cappavicar's goalkeeper Barley McOliver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Herne Robinson fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cappavicar's protests and gave Herne Robinson a yellow card for diving instead. Herne Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. A collision led to Cappavicar getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Brin Delaney hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tyrone O'Keefe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
