Spectators: 6762 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 0) 13 minutes into the match, Hermitage FC's goal looked a bit too open when Garrett Hunt came free, but Davie Frankson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abbot Crowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainnle Duggan having to interfere. Ainnle Duggan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donn Robinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Hermitage FC's Davie Frankson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyrone O'Keefe in the 25th minute of play. Tyrone O'Keefe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Garrett Hunt came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Kilkea FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garrett Hunt couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Abbot Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hermitage FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abbot Crowe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ainnle Duggan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Donn Robinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the game, Hermitage FC's Donagh Benson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ainnle Duggan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Abbot Crowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tyrone O'Keefe to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Tyrone O'Keefe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Davie Frankson, 2-1. In the 59th minute, Pierce McIan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donn Robinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainnle Duggan having to interfere. If Tyrone O'Keefe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ainnle Duggan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abbot Crowe in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 played minutes Kilkea FC got a freekick which was hit by Pierce McIan. In the 88th match minute, Hermitage FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donagh Benson to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute of the match Kennedy O'Brien sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Davie Frankson skillfully saved the ball. After 96 minutes, Liam McWillie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kilkea FC and the Hermitage FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hermitage FC booed when Kilkea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liam McWillie didn't get a good kick on the ball.
