After recieving a nice pass, Ballinalack's Bardon Cassin tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bow Johnson in the 7th minute of play forced Cappavicar's goalkeeper Barley McOliver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Derrick McFrank scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barley McOliver, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th minute Derrick McFrank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barley McOliver saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bow Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Cappavicar defense, Derrick McFrank kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Barley McOliver. The Cappavicar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Barley McOliver should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd match minute, Cappavicar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brin Delaney to maneuver through the defense. Tipper McStephen's late challenge caught a Cappavicar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tipper McStephen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Ballinalack was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tipper McStephen to maneuver through the defense. If Bow Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ballinalack's Peadair Crowe got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Derrick McFrank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barley McOliver having to interfere. Derrick McFrank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Derrick McFrank left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballinalack fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Bow Johnson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cappavicar's Barley McOliver was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ballinalack's Bow Johnson in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 67thth minute of the game Bow Johnson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cappavicar's Barley McOliver was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Ballinalack booed when Cappavicar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Myler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ballinalack's Britt Cassin got a free kick in the 77th minute. Harrigan McAlphie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Myler in the 79th minute of the match. Cappavicar's Herne Robinson got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cappavicar's Cianán Walker suffered a concussion after 90 minutes and had to leave the field. 90 minutes into the game, Derrick McFrank was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballinalack's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cappavicar the free kick. Derrick McFrank hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Jonathan Myler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cappavicar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Ballinalack played a much better game than Cappavicar and deserved their victory. The Cappavicar players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
