Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cappavicar's Barley McOliver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aban Duggan in the 5th minute of play. The supporters of Kilcusnaun booed when Cappavicar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barram McNamee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Mulvihill, 14 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Cappavicar's Herne Robinson in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Gollogley to make the kick off. John Gollogley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Barley McOliver came out and tried to block the shot, but John Gollogley slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 59th minute. In the 65thth minute of the game John Gollogley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cappavicar's Barley McOliver was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. John Gollogley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If John Gollogley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, John Gollogley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nollaig McBrandon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herne Robinson in the 73rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Herne Robinson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nollaig McBrandon was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Nollaig McBrandon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herne Robinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Herne Robinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nollaig McBrandon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barley McOliver didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilcusnaun. The Cappavicar supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kilcusnaun's performance. The match ended with a win for Kilcusnaun.
