Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Breadan Murphy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Kaine Silke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beartlai McSteve in the 8th minute of play forced Rathscannel's goalkeeper Shamus McPaul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Bairre Johnson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kevis Dalton fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rathscannel's protests and gave Kevis Dalton a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Rathscannel got a freekick which was hit by Kevis Dalton. In the 21st minute, Beartlai McSteve made a precise shot to the right of Shamus McPaul. Rathscannel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Shamus McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beartlai McSteve in the 23rd minute of play. Caroll McFrancise scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shamus McPaul, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Shamus McPaul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caroll McFrancise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rathscannel's Riley Deery got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Cashel O'Down tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Kaine Silke. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 40th minute. Breadan Murphy struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Kaine Silke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rathscannel. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Breadan Murphy was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Dane McJohn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaine Silke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaine Silke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breadan Murphy in the 53rd minute of the match. Bairre Johnson kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Barroughter's zone, Breadan Murphy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaine Silke came out of the goal and Breadan Murphy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Breadan Murphy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barroughter's goalkeeper Kaine Silke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Barroughter's Kaine Silke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breadan Murphy in the 66th minute of play. After 67 minutes, Bairre Johnson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rathscannel and the Barroughter players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Rathscannel getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Bairre Johnson hit a great ball. The supporters of Rathscannel booed when Barroughter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Healey McJohnny didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Breadan Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bairre Johnson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. In the 74th minute, Bairre Johnson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the game, Eoghan Dempsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barroughter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rathscannel the free kick. In the 77th match minute, Barroughter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eoghan Dempsey to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, Dane McJohn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaine Silke was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After 88 played minutes Barroughter got a freekick which was hit by Eoghan Dempsey. 92 minutes into the game, Beartlai McSteve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barroughter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rathscannel the free kick. Kaine Silke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dane McJohn went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Rathscannel's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
