Ballyteige Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bairthmead Ghee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Erindale FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Dempsey came free, but Pat Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Dempsey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Séamus O'Keefe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hayes McPeter in the 26th minute of play forced Ballyteige Utd's goalkeeper Troy McPhilip to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballyteige Utd! Hayes McPeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beary McPhil kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Troy McPhilip took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bearchan Matthews, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bairthmead Ghee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Pat Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hayes McPeter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Hayes McPeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Troy McPhilip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ballyteige Utd's Troy McPhilip played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayes McPeter in the 53rd minute of play. Hayes McPeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Hayes McPeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Troy McPhilip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pat Crowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Dempsey in the 64th minute of the match. Troy McPhilip didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bearchan Matthews went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Troy McPhilip had great luck who in the 70thth minute grab hold of the ball when Hayes McPeter from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Troy McPhilip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobin McBrandon in the 72nd minute of play. If Robert Dempsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. When Hayes McPeter came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Erindale FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hayes McPeter couldn't finish the play. Hayes McPeter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Ballyteige Utd's Troy McPhilip got control of the ball when Bearchan Matthews tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erindale FC's Bearchan Matthews got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Ballyteige Utd supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Erindale FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Erindale FC.
