Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Shamus McPaul kicked off to start the match. Lochlainn John took the ball and in the 2 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Braon McPeter. Braon McPeter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Aaden Ghee could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Braon McPeter made a huge save. If Tobin McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lochlainn John sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lawrence Taylor kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Meadstown's Nolyn Dempsey tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 27th minute, one of Gortnagappul AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gortnagappul AFC. In the 31st minute, Lawrence Taylor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shamus McPaul in the 39th minute of play forced Gortnagappul AFC's goalkeeper Donncha Murphy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Tobin McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Aaden Ghee ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Braon McPeter was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lochlainn John to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Lochlainn John shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Braon McPeter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaden Ghee blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Braon McPeter having to make a save. In the 60th minute Shamus McPaul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donncha Murphy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute Shamus McPaul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donncha Murphy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Gortnagappul AFC's Donncha Murphy got control of the ball when Tobin McTom tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 65 played minutes Gortnagappul AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rollan Harkin. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meadstown's goalkeeper Braon McPeter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gortnagappul AFC were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Meadstown's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Breadan Doherty took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aaden Ghee in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Braon McPeter saved Meadstown from getting behind. Sameer Caffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shamus McPaul recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Antaine Bayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tobin McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Donncha Murphy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Meadstown's goal looked a bit too open when Lochlainn John came free, but Braon McPeter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Meadstown defense, Aaden Ghee kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Braon McPeter. The Meadstown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Braon McPeter should have stopped the shot. 96 minutes into the match, Meadstown's goal looked a bit too open when Lochlainn John came free, but Braon McPeter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Meadstown's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
