Barra McPaul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bard Hamilton , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ballyvaughan's Barra McPaul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bard Hamilton in the 8th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dewain Gough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gearóid Johnson was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fachtna McPhilip was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dewain Gough in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gearóid Johnson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gearóid Johnson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dewain Gough went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Dewain Gough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Gearóid Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brandan Caffey might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gearóid Johnson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brandan Caffey ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dewain Gough in the 75th minute of play forced Tulsk's goalkeeper Gearóid Johnson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Brandan Caffey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gearóid Johnson. The Tulsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gearóid Johnson should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bard Hamilton got free with Barra McPaul in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Tulsk's zone, Bairne Hughes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gearóid Johnson came out of the goal and Bairne Hughes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
