In the 9th minute, Dewain Gough left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballyvaughan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Bealtaine Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barra McPaul having to interfere. The supporters of Ballyvaughan booed when Menotti FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bragan Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Bragan Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ballyvaughan's Artur Martyn couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Menotti FC. Brannen Mullan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dewain Gough, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Dewain Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brannen Mullan having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Ballyvaughan's Brandan Caffey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brannen Mullan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brannen Mullan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dewain Gough in the 31st minute of the match. Dewain Gough might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brannen Mullan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dewain Gough ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th match minute, Ballyvaughan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braoin Taylor to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 38th minute, when Menotti FC's Teris Deans after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Barra McPaul in Ballyvaughan's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Ballyvaughan's Bairne Hughes got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Menotti FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ballyvaughan were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bealtaine Gough to strike the kick off in the second half. Justin Scully kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 56 played minutes Ballyvaughan got a freekick which was hit by Gearóid Kelly. Barra McPaul stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bealtaine Gough's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. A collision led to Ballyvaughan getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Bartel Dimson hit a great ball. Barra McPaul stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bel Morrison's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute Bel Morrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barra McPaul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Bel Morrison had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barra McPaul. Ballyvaughan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bel Morrison was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 75 played minutes Ballyvaughan got a freekick which was hit by Justin Scully. Brannen Mullan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brandan Caffey in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Menotti FC's Keegan Deery got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 81 minutes of play, Ballyvaughan's Dewain Gough made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brannen Mullan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Barcvni Coyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
