When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tierney Hughes made a kick off. A collision led to Menotti FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Brannen Mullan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 66 played minutes Moylough got a freekick which was hit by Artuir Kirby. Menotti FC's Harry Mullan suffered a sore foot after 68 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Artuir Kirby's late challenge caught a Menotti FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Darragh McOliver's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brannen Mullan was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Seán Colwell came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Moylough fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seán Colwell couldn't finish the play. Darragh McOliver took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brannen Mullan. Brannen Mullan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Darragh McOliver struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Brannen Mullan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moylough. Seán Colwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Moylough were the better team. Moylough's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
