Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rorke Morrison made the kick off which started today's match. Knockgaffon were furious when Berrach Lavine was red carded, 3 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Knockgaffon! 7 minutes into the game, Conn Doyle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knockboha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knockgaffon the free kick. After a rather tough play, Knockboha's Conn Doyle got a free kick in the 7th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dane Costello was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Knockgaffon's Banvan Benson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Braddon Matthews made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. A collision led to Knockboha getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Brigid Lester hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Knockboha's Brigid Lester got a free kick in the 65th minute. Knockgaffon's John Holt got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geralt McJon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rylee Rogers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Knockgaffon's Rylee Rogers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dane Costello in the 72nd minute of play. Braddon Matthews made an important save on a dangerous shot by Banvan Benson in the 78th minute. The long shot by John Holt in the 81st minute really tested Braddon Matthews's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Dane Costello came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Knockboha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dane Costello couldn't finish the play. Rylee Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dane Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the game, Banvan Benson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Braddon Matthews. Banvan Benson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Rylee Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dane Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Geralt McJon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Knockgaffon had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
