Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gortnasate's Braoin McPhilip started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tirloch McBjarton's late challenge caught a Gortnasate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tirloch McBjarton helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gortnasate booed when Cloonusker was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tirloch McBjarton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cloonusker's Nolyn McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braoin McPhilip in the 12th minute of play. Keely Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute Brayden McWillie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beothach McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes, Berkley McDonald mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gortnasate and the Cloonusker players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gortnasate fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! Beiti Mullan placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Keely Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cloonusker! Nolyn McJohnny didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Casey Coyle went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Nolyn McJohnny was a little too slow when Casey Coyle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 3-0. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cloonusker! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brayden McWillie to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes of play Cloonusker's Tirloch McBjarton was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 56th match minute, Cloonusker was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tirloch McBjarton to maneuver through the defense. Cahir McGlenn hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Keely Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cloonusker's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keely Keegan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gortnasate's Beothach McAlphie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Gortnasate from getting a goal against them. Keely Keegan struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Beothach McAlphie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloonusker. Keely Keegan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Beothach McAlphie made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Keely Keegan sent off a good shot on target. Brayden McWillie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beothach McAlphie having to interfere. If Abbot McJames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keely Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nolyn McJohnny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casey Coyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beothach McAlphie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Keely Keegan in the 92nd minute. Casey Coyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gortnasate fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cloonusker had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
