Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Lorcan Sheridan kicked off to start the match. Boyle Doherty hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Stonybatter! Thomas Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Kilcolumb's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew McTommy came free, but Rory Jameson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Becc Crowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Liam Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harrigan Barrett during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes Kilcolumb got a freekick which was hit by Harrigan Barrett. Thomas Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rory Jameson having to interfere. Justin Bayes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Rory Jameson made a huge save. Lorcan Sheridan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Stonybatter's Kennedy Dillon got a free kick in the 27th minute. Andrew McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Andrew McTommy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stonybatter fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When Andrew McTommy came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Stonybatter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrew McTommy couldn't finish the play. Thomas Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 minutes of play, Stonybatter's Thomas Martyn made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rory Jameson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rory Jameson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Martyn in the 65th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Thomas Martyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rory Jameson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rory Jameson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 95 minutes into the match, Kilcolumb's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew McTommy came free, but Rory Jameson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kilcolumb's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorcan Sheridan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liam Cooney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stonybatter's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
