When Derrynameel's Brandon McOliver in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kerrigan Horgan hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Bradaigh Ghee notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kilcolumb's Rory Jameson. Rory Jameson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rory Jameson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradaigh Ghee in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorcan Sheridan in the 21st minute of play forced Derrynameel's goalkeeper Ricard Hamilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Becc Crowe got free with Ricard Hamilton in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Derrynameel getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Darren Mullan hit a great ball. The long shot by Bairthmead John in the 28th minute really tested Ricard Hamilton's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Becc Crowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derrynameel's Ricard Hamilton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Derrynameel from getting a goal against them. Rory Jameson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradaigh Ghee in the 37th minute of play. Rory Jameson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradaigh Ghee went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ricard Hamilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Becc Crowe in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute Brandon McOliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rory Jameson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brandon McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rory Jameson having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lorcan Sheridan was the one to do the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Bradaigh Ghee got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brandon McOliver in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rory Jameson saved Kilcolumb from getting behind. Becc Crowe might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricard Hamilton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Becc Crowe ran back to his position shaking his head. The Kilcolumb fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Derrynameel were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
