The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maryland! An unexpectedly hard shot by Braedon Caffrey in the 7th minute of play forced Maryland's goalkeeper Felim Glen Crowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kain McMichels short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Felim Glen Crowe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Bourns Savic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 14th minute, Slieveanulty Utd's Braedon Caffrey ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Felim Glen Crowe. Felim Glen Crowe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The supporters of Maryland booed when Slieveanulty Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brennan Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Braedon Caffrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felim Glen Crowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braedon Caffrey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Maryland getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Teddy McBrand hit a great ball. If Buach McDecland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braedon Caffrey in the 38th minute of play forced Maryland's goalkeeper Felim Glen Crowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kain McMichel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felim Glen Crowe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Maryland's goal looked a bit too open when Braedon Caffrey came free, but Felim Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kain McMichel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Felim Glen Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felim Glen Crowe made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Kain McMichel sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Braedon Caffrey was the one to do the kick off. Brennan Delaney hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Buach McDecland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bray Jameson was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Maryland's Felim Glen Crowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braedon Caffrey in the 57th minute of play. Raonall McOliver kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Felim Glen Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braedon Caffrey, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. The supporters of Slieveanulty Utd booed when Maryland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donall McWill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kain McMichel might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felim Glen Crowe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kain McMichel ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Maryland booed when Slieveanulty Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brennan Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Maryland's Batt Gollogley tried to score from far away in the 88th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Buach McDecland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Blayne Caffrey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bray Jameson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Maryland's zone, Braedon Caffrey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felim Glen Crowe came out of the goal and Braedon Caffrey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felim Glen Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kain McMichel in the 96th minute of play. Slieveanulty Utd's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
