Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Andrew McTommy took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes Stonybatter got a freekick which was hit by Rollin Costello. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gordan Caffrey in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liam Cooney prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 5th minute Bhrighde McWillie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liam Cooney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Stonybatter's Liam Cooney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Stonybatter from getting a goal against them. Liam Cooney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gordan Caffrey in the 59th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Dunany's Bhrighde McWillie slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Liam Cooney. That made the score 1-2 after 67 minutes of play. A collision led to Dunany getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Conleth Moran hit a great ball. Thomas Martyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Bell McBjarton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bell McBjarton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrew McTommy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dunany's Bell McBjarton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Martyn in the 78th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Boyle Doherty notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Dunany's Bell McBjarton. Bell McBjarton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrew McTommy in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bell McBjarton saved Dunany from getting behind. After having played for 96 minutes, Bhrighde McWillie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bhrighde McWillie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
