Spectators: 6765 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 0) Derrynameel's Brandon McOliver started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brandon McOliver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 4 minutes of play, Derrynameel's Bradaigh Ghee made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bowie Delaney was left in no man's land by his defense there! 12 minutes into the match, Derrynameel's goalkeeper Ricard Hamilton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilian Holt. Bradaigh Ghee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Muineagh! Brandon McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bowie Delaney having to interfere. If Bradaigh Ghee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bowie Delaney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brandon McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Derrynameel's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gilian Holt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 40th minute Brandon McOliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bowie Delaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Derrynameel's Darren Mullan got a free kick in the 41st minute. With a little luck, Derrynameel's Ricard Hamilton got control of the ball when Gilian Holt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brandon McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bowie Delaney having to interfere. After the first half Derrynameel were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bran Scully made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Bran Scully managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muineagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bran Scully was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Muineagh getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Cormac McDonald hit a great ball. Bradaigh Ghee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bowie Delaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon McOliver in the 77th minute of play. After 79 minutes of play, Muineagh's Bran Scully made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricard Hamilton was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Derrynameel's Brandon McOliver slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bowie Delaney. That made the score 2-3 after 86 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bran Scully in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricard Hamilton saved Derrynameel from getting behind. 95 minutes into the match, Derrynameel's goal looked a bit too open when Bran Scully came free, but Ricard Hamilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Muineagh supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Derrynameel's performance. The match ended with a win for Derrynameel.
