Fachtna Delaney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corray. Auley McSteve hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Davie Gough managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corray's supporters rose to their feet, but Davie Gough was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fachtna Delaney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th minute Brendon Silke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fachtna Delaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes, Carrick AFC's Baiste Kelly shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barrie Moran came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carrick AFC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toren Coyle in the 25th minute of play forced Carrick AFC's goalkeeper Fachtna Delaney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Becc McOliver during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Carrick AFC booed when Corray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Becc McOliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Davie Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fachtna Delaney having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toren Coyle in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fachtna Delaney saved Carrick AFC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Carrick AFC's zone, Ailill Gough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fachtna Delaney came out of the goal and Ailill Gough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brendon Silke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davie Gough could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Fachtna Delaney made a huge save. The supporters of Corray booed when Carrick AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Auley McSteve didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corray were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Carrick AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Toren Coyle took the corner. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baodan Hutton made a kick off. Fachtna Delaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ailill Gough in the 54th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ailill Gough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fachtna Delaney was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Davie Gough sped through Carrick AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fachtna Delaney. Davie Gough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Fachtna Delaney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 69 minutes, Brendon Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corray's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon Silke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ailill Gough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Brenn Taylor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barrie Moran was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ailill Gough in the 81st minute of play forced Carrick AFC's goalkeeper Fachtna Delaney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baodan Hutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fachtna Delaney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davie Gough, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Brendon Silke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87thth minute of the game Toren Coyle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carrick AFC's Fachtna Delaney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Carrick AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brendon Silke came free, but Fachtna Delaney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Corray's Brendon Silke got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
