The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fachtna Delaney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Benson, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Donell McIan kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Fachtna Delaney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Coileán Lavine in the 15th minute. Scott Frankson kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Kevinn McLian hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Ballaghkeen got a freekick which was hit by Harry Benson. Harry Benson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fachtna Delaney having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Harry Benson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballaghkeen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Benson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Harry Benson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baodan Hutton made a kick off. If Coileán Lavine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coileán Lavine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brakawn McCready kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Riddoc McOliver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baodan Hutton in the 72nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ballaghkeen's Coileán Lavine got a free kick in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Beanon McMichel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Fachtna Delaney was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute Baodan Hutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Riddoc McOliver saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Benson in the 96th minute of play forced Carrick AFC's goalkeeper Fachtna Delaney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ballaghkeen fully deserved thier win.
