Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cleary McOliver started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleary McOliver in the 5th minute of play forced Derrybeg's goalkeeper Shey Mullan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shey Mullan stood somewhat misplaced when Cleary McOliver came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 8 minute. Torrans Matthews showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barra McWill in the 12th minute of the match. Desmond Hughes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shey Mullan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Mullan AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desmond Hughes to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the match, Derrybeg's Alfred McBrand broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Shey Mullan made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Shamus McJames sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute, Jarlath McJames hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Barra McWill left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derrybeg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Torrans Matthews made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braddon Cronin in the 36th minute of play. Cleary McOliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Cleary McOliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shey Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Shamus McJames sped through Derrybeg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Shey Mullan. In the 51st minute, Braddon Cronin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Braddon Cronin made the kick off in the second half. Desmond Hughes tried in the game's 56th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Torrans Matthews. An annoying self made goal, 2-2. 59 minutes into the game, Mullan AFC's Desmond Hughes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shey Mullan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Shey Mullan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cleary McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute, Cleary McOliver got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Mullan AFC's Cleary McOliver in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Derrybeg's goalie prevented a goal. Shey Mullan came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Mullan AFC's Cleary McOliver. But to his dismay, Cleary McOliver quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Cleary McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Shey Mullan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shamus McJames struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Shey Mullan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mullan AFC. Cleary McOliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darrick McWillie lost his temper 89 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mullan AFC! Shey Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shamus McJames, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barra McWill might have been able to make a better finish in the 99th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torrans Matthews. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barra McWill ran back to his position shaking his head. Shey Mullan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shamus McJames in the 102nd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mullan AFC fully deserved thier win.
