Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rourke McGlynn took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Cavan Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Beanon McMichel came free, but Brazil Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cavan Utd's Tierney McDecland got a free kick in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beanon McMichel in the 9th minute of play forced Cavan Utd's goalkeeper Brazil Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Scott Frankson scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brazil Hunt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rourke McGlynn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Riddoc McOliver read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Brazil Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beanon McMichel, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When Tierney McDecland fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cavan Utd's protests and gave Tierney McDecland a yellow card for diving instead. Tierney McDecland hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute, Cavan Utd's Rourke McGlynn ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Riddoc McOliver. Riddoc McOliver yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 27 minutes into the match, Ballaghkeen's goal looked a bit too open when Bearnard McPeter came free, but Riddoc McOliver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 30 in the game by Rourke McGlynn from a close distance when the talented Riddoc McOliver managed to make a qualified save. Ballaghkeen's players were relieved. Rourke McGlynn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Riddoc McOliver made a huge save. In the 45th minute, Bearnard McPeter fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Riddoc McOliver, passed just outside the right post. Tierney McDecland was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Coileán Lavine made a kick off. Fachtna Lavine hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Ballaghkeen's Riddoc McOliver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandan McPaul in the 53rd minute of play. When Kennedy Callaghan came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Cavan Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kennedy Callaghan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ballaghkeen getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Fachtna Lavine hit a great ball. Cavan Utd's Brazil Hunt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Cavan Utd from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Ballaghkeen's zone, Brandan McPaul stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Riddoc McOliver came out of the goal and Brandan McPaul tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st match minute, Ballaghkeen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beanon McMichel to maneuver through the defense. Brazil Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Frankson in the 85th minute of play. Many of Ballaghkeen's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ballaghkeen may have spent more time on the ball, but Cavan Utd were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
