Spectators: 6769 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 0) Castlegar's Darrin Colwell started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A hard shot 14 in the game by Bevan McDonald from a close distance when the talented Brenda Byrne managed to make a qualified save. Mangerton AFC's players were relieved. After 16 played minutes Castlegar got a freekick which was hit by Raonall O'Neill. After 19 played minutes Castlegar got a freekick which was hit by Healy Harkin. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Bevan McDonald got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Mangerton AFC's Boyd McDonald got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Castlegar were awarded a corner. Raonall O'Neill went to the cornerflag to take it. Darick Ramsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Alan Caffey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute Harold Hunt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Caffey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Darick Ramsey came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Mangerton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darick Ramsey couldn't finish the play. In the 39thth minute of the game Harold Hunt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castlegar's Alan Caffey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Darrin Colwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brenda Byrne having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Harold Hunt made the kick off in the second half. Brenda Byrne came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Castlegar's Bevan McDonald. But to his dismay, Bevan McDonald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 61st match minute, Mangerton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beagan Colwell to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd match minute, Castlegar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Séamus Benson to maneuver through the defense. Brenda Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bevan McDonald in the 64th minute of play. Bevan McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Brenda Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Castlegar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold McDonald to maneuver through the defense. Harold Hunt took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alan Caffey. Alan Caffey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 84 minutes into the match, Castlegar's goalkeeper Alan Caffey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darick Ramsey. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Harold Hunt took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Alan Caffey to make any attempt to save it. In the 88th minute, Boyle McFrank hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darick Ramsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Caffey having to interfere. The Mangerton AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
