After a rather tough play, Corbaly's Colmcille McCready got a free kick in the 8th minute. When Gill McSteven came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Corbaly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gill McSteven couldn't finish the play. Colmcille McCready sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brenda Byrne didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Colmcille McCready went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 24 minutes into the game, Blanche Barrett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corbaly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mangerton AFC the free kick. Blanche Barrett hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Colmcille McCready hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd match minute, Corbaly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Rutherford to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the game, Gill McSteven cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Brenda Byrne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brenda Byrne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bairthmead Cassin, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. A collision led to Mangerton AFC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Beagan Colwell hit a great ball. Gill McSteven scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brenda Byrne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Mangerton AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Corbaly were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harold Hunt was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Gill McSteven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brenda Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerald Molloy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Harold Gollogley. Corbaly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Brenda Byrne made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Bairthmead Cassin sent off a good shot on target. Brenda Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gill McSteven in the 60th minute of the match. Bairthmead Cassin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blanche Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bairthmead Cassin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Brenda Byrne when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Devlin Duggan hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, Harold Hunt notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Corbaly's Harold Gollogley. Harold Gollogley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Gill McSteven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boyle McFrank hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Brenda Byrne successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Corbaly played a much better game than Mangerton AFC and deserved their victory. The Mangerton AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
