Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Aghatubrid's Kain John started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Aghatubrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Finnigan Scully to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute, Darick Ramsey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kain John in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brenda Byrne saved Mangerton AFC from getting behind. Kain John received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Brenda Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darick Ramsey in the 18th minute of play forced Aghatubrid's goalkeeper Scott McJohn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Scott McJohn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Hunt, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Aghatubrid getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Briain Murphy hit a great ball. Harold Hunt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Scott McJohn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Gerald Molloy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Briain Murphy hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Briain Murphy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brenda Byrne, 1-0. In the 45th minute Boyle McFrank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott McJohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scott McJohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darick Ramsey in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Harold Hunt made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Kain John hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darick Ramsey in the 54th minute of play forced Aghatubrid's goalkeeper Scott McJohn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brenda Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kain John in the 57th minute of the match. Kain John blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brenda Byrne having to make a save. When Aghatubrid's Kain John in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mangerton AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 71st minute, Cahir McIan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Mangerton AFC's Rory Moran got a free kick in the 76th minute. Scothine Scully struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Brenda Byrne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aghatubrid. In the 82ndth minute of the game Kain John who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mangerton AFC's Brenda Byrne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mangerton AFC's zone, Bean Martyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brenda Byrne came out of the goal and Bean Martyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brenda Byrne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kain John's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Despite being the better team, Aghatubrid failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
