Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Pollrone's zone, Heron Hutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bearach McDonald came out of the goal and Heron Hutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 14 played minutes, Emly's Gil McLiam shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bearach McDonald came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Emly reached it. After 14 minutes, Kevin Prunty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pollrone and the Emly players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th match minute, Pollrone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Prunty to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Heron Hutton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bearach McDonald. Pollrone's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Heron Hutton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 20 played minutes Pollrone got a freekick which was hit by Lochlainn Ferguson. In the 22nd match minute, Emly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bressail Matthews to maneuver through the defense. Timothy McIan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doney McLaughlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Geralt McNamee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bearach McDonald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Emly booed when Pollrone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breanainn Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doney McLaughlin in the 42nd minute of play forced Emly's goalkeeper Timothy McIan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doney McLaughlin made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doney McLaughlin in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timothy McIan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. During the 58th minute of the match Kevin Prunty completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kevin Prunty a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Kevin Prunty hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Geralt McNamee made a precise shot to the right of Bearach McDonald. Pollrone's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Breanne Dempsey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Emly's supporters rose to their feet, but Breanne Dempsey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bearach McDonald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Derry Beckett came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Pollrone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derry Beckett couldn't finish the play. After 79 minutes, Heron Hutton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Emly and the Pollrone players grew even worse after the yellow card.
