Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shea McFrancise started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute, Dillon Brennan made a precise shot to the right of Pat McPhil. Monroe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Shea McFrancise came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Monroe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shea McFrancise couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Shea McFrancise managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monroe's supporters rose to their feet, but Shea McFrancise was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Colm Beckett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Colm Beckett made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Cashel Willson sent off a good shot on target. Dillon Brennan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat McPhil having to interfere. Pat McPhil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dillon Brennan in the 25th minute of play. Cashel Willson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Shea McFrancise got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Colm Beckett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shea McFrancise in the 36th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Shea McFrancise left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monroe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 39thth minute of the game Dillon Brennan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monroe's Pat McPhil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Colm Beckett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shea McFrancise, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 45 minutes into the match, Monroe's goal looked a bit too open when Gearroid Willson came free, but Pat McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Dillon Brennan made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Monroe's Triain Silke got a free kick in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Séamus Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilfenora's supporters rose to their feet, but Séamus Byrne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pat McPhil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kilfenora's Rian McLaughlin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pat McPhil but with some difficulty. Cashel Willson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st match minute, Monroe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berach Ramsey to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 63 minutes, Séamus Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilfenora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Séamus Byrne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Monroe's Pat McPhil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Monroe from getting a goal against them. Dillon Brennan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat McPhil having to interfere. Dillon Brennan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Séamus Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Dillon Brennan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pat McPhil. That made the score 1-2 in the 81 minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, Monroe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Riddock Cronin to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gearroid Willson during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Monroe booed when Kilfenora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gearroid Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Monroe's Cashel Willson in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kilfenora's goalie prevented a goal. Quinton McWillie hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Monroe's Pat McPhil got control of the ball when Séamus Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. Séamus Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Pat McPhil made a huge save.
