In the 4th match minute, Cloghglass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdia O'Brien to maneuver through the defense. Doney Taylor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Pierce O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute Seoirse Savic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierce O'Down saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Lismore FC's goalkeeper Joseph McLian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eamonn Hughes. The supporters of Cloghglass FC booed when Lismore FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seoirse Savic didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierce O'Down didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Berrigan McVictor went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Gearoid McWilliam fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lismore FC's protests and gave Gearoid McWilliam a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes, Cloghglass FC's Reilly Kelly shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joseph McLian came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cloghglass FC reached it. Cloghglass FC's Pierce O'Down played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doney Taylor in the 36th minute of play. The long shot by Ferdia O'Brien in the 37th minute really tested Joseph McLian's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Cloghglass FC's Pierce O'Down played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berrigan McVictor in the 39th minute of play. Doney Taylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pierce O'Down showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doney Taylor, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doney Taylor made a kick off. Fiachra McWilliam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Joseph McLian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Berrigan McVictor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gearóid MaCollin charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gearóid MaCollin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Taveon McJohn kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Reilly Kelly took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joseph McLian. Lismore FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Berrigan McVictor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Pierce O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doney Taylor struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Pierce O'Down didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lismore FC. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Lismore FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
