But to his dismay, Robert Palmer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Dillon Brennan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bean Rutherford. Dillon Brennan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. A collision led to Kilfenora getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Gearroid Willson hit a great ball. In the 18th match minute, Kilfenora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paudraig Kirby to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Annesbrook's goalkeeper Bean Rutherford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Séamus Byrne. If Dónal Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bean Rutherford prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paudraig Kirby during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teigue Barrett, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When the match was over Annesbrook could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kilfenora throughout the match.
